Housing companies: find offers and follow the application process

Start with the official search information

Housing companies publish offers through different channels. Check the current search page of the company concerned. A company name in a listing does not replace checking where its application link actually leads.

Shared search portals already exist

Berlin has a shared search portal called inberlinwohnen. GESOBAU refers to this portal and to Immomio as an application partner on its official page. It would therefore be inaccurate to describe the search as taking place only on separate company websites.

Searching and applying are two steps

The place where you discover an offer need not be the service through which you apply. Open the official source and follow its stated process. Before sharing personal documents, check the recipient and the documents requested.

Prepare for the actual offer

Record the information requested for a specific offer and any stated conditions. Offers do not all have the same requirements. A housing company’s name alone does not establish, for example, that a WBS eligibility certificate is required.

Keep an overview of several sources

Immo Hunter provides a catalogue with offers from several sources and links to original listings. The company filter helps narrow the selection. Registration, applications and allocation remain subject to the provider’s process. This does not promise a particular response time or an acceptance.
